Downtown Master Plan Update
During the workshops in 2024, Benchmark Planning gave presentations and facilitated discussion around the opportunities and challenges to improving downtown Lumberton. The meeting attendees participated in small group discussions to begin developing big ideas and a vision for making downtown Lumberton a great place. Prior to finalizing the Master Plan, the City, through funding from an ongoing brownfields project with Terracon, is currently evaluating the market potential of the proposed alternatives for opportunity sites prior to finalizing the Master Plan. It is anticipated that the final document and implementation plan will be presented in March 2025.

Lumberton Downtown Master Plan
The City of Lumberton's Master Plan process is underway. During the process residents, business owners, property owners, and the broader Lumberton community will have the opportunity to participate in the development of a community supported vision for the future of Downtown Lumberton. The Master Plan will include recommendations on urban design and public space, branding and promotional marketing, transportation and mobility, and development regulations.
